Nawaz's deal with govt surprised everyone: Ejazul Haq

ISLAMABAD, December 12 (Online): Senior PML (N) leader Ejazul Haq, commenting on Nawaz Sharif's departure from the country as a political exile, has said the former prime minister's deal with the government has surprised everyone within the party adding that it is the time for the PML(N) to forge unity in ranks and select a new party leader without further delay

Talking to Radio Tehran, he said, "Under a sort of deal with the incumbent government, Nawaz Sharif has opted for a life in exile, which has surprised almost everyone within the party. The press reports indicate that negotiations between Sharif family and the military government had been going on behind the scene for the past two or three months".

"The policy, which Nawaz Sharif adopted before his departure, was highly regrettable. All along, he knew that his family was trying to strike a deal with the authorities for his release and during this time, he made various moves to break-up the party. I believe it is time for the PML(N) to forge unity in ranks and select a new party leader without further delay", he added
