Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Italy calls on PM
ISLAMABAD, Sept 20 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani received Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Italy, Ms. Tehmina Janjua on Tuesday at the Prime Minister’s House and instructed her to make efforts for enhancement of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Italy during her tenure.The two countries, he said have the potential to cooperate with each other in energy sector as well as for joint ventures in different areas including agriculture, marble and gemstones, textile and fashion design etc. Efforts shouldalso be made to enhance trade volume between the two countries, he added.
The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of high level visits between the two countries. He appreciated Italy’s consistent support in the European Union for wider market access to the Pakistani goods.
Ms. Tehmina Janjua, who has served in Pakistan’s missions to United Nations in New York as well as Geneva, would be leaving soon for Rome. The Prime Minister appreciated her services during her 24 years of diplomatic carrier. He also lauded her contribution as the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
