PM invites political leaders to conference on security situation
ISLAMABAD, Sept 25 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Sunday held discussions with political leaders over telephone on the current security situation facing Pakistan.The Prime Minister invited leaders of various political parties to attend a national conference to apprise them of security conditions in Pakistan and the emerging situation in the region.During the conference, the political leadership will be taken into confidence about the security situation in the wake of threats emanating from outside the country.The Prime Minister contacted President and Co-Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari and informed him about his contacts with leaders of political parties.
According to details, Gilani called chief of Pakistan Muslim League-N Mian Nawaz Sharif, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, head of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali, head of Jamaat-e-Islami Munawar Hassan, Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of Pakistan Mulim-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, President of Pakistan Muslim League (LM)) Saleem Saifullah Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-F leader Pir Pagaro, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan, PPP-S chief Aftaf Sherpao, JUI-N chief Anas Noorani, Parliamentary Leader of MNAs from FATA Munir Khan Orakzai and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed of Awami Muslim League.
 According to a spokesman of Prime Minister House, the political leadership welcomed the initiative of the Prime Minister.
 Talking to PTV, Saleem Saifullah said that all political parties should get united on national issues and respond to the statements coming from the United States.
 The Prime Minister has called back Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, who is in New York to attend the 66th session of United Nations General Assembly.
