20 million flood victims to be rehabilitated on priority basis: PM 

      
DADU, Nov 19 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has declared that the 20 million flood victims would be rehabilitated on priority.He was addressing a public meeting here on Friday after an aerial view of the flood affected areas.The Prime Minister said that it is our responsibility to rehabilitate the 20 million people in the country, who have been affected by the floods.He assured that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would fulfil the pledges it has made with the people. “We will fulfil each and every promise made with the people”, he declared.
The Prime Minister said that the government would implement the manifesto of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and added that the government would serve the people without any distinction.
Referring to the demands of the people, Yusuf Raza Gilani pointed out that the government has already announced that seeds and fertilizers would be provided free of cost.
He said that the Chief Minister Sindh has already made an announcement with regard to declaring the calamity hit areas.
The Prime Minister said that he would direct the officials concerned that the utility bills of electricity and gas be waived off in the flood hit areas.
He said that the agricultural loans in the affected areas should also be examined for exemption. Yusuf Raza Gilani also assured assistance for the development projects of the Gorakh Hill Station.     
He announced a sum of Rs. 100 million each for the two constituencies for carrying out development work.
The Prime Minister said that a strategy would be devised for the seven districts that have been affected by the floods.
