Gilani sympathizes with Turkish counterpart over loss of lives in earthquake
ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP):Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has extended his heartfelt sympathies to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the loss of lives and damages due to earthquake that has struck the city of Van and surrounding areas. In a letter to the Turkish Prime Minister on Tuesday, Gilani said, “on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, I would like to convey our heartfelt sympathies to the government and people of Turkey for the large scale loss that they have suffered due to the earthquake that struck the city of Van and surrounding areas.” “We stand together with our Turkish brothers and sisters in this moment of great challenge.We are confident that the resilient Turkish nation will overcome the extensive loss and damage wrought by this natural calamity,” he added.
The Prime Minister said, “We are at one with the Turkish nation at this moment of great trial. We pray for those who have lost their lives and wish for the early recovery of the many who have been injured.”
“We have arranged to immediately airlift a team of doctors with relief supplies. We stand ready to support, in any manner required, Turkey’s national efforts in coping with the aftermath of this tragic catastrophe,” he added.
The Prime Minister said,”The people of Pakistan share the sufferings of our Turkish brothers and sisters. We pray to Allah Almighty to grant the Turkish nation the strength and fortitude to overcome the effects of this catastrophe.”
“Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” he added.
