PM approves convening of COMSATS’ commission meeting in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday approved convening of two-day meeting of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in South (COMSATS). The Prime Minister will preside the inaugural and first plenary sessions of the COMSATS’ commission, to be held in Islamabad during the third week of April 2012. The meeting will be attended by the member heads of state and government or their ministerial-level representatives.
The COMSATS is an inter-governmental organization comprising 21-member countries across the globe including Pakistan which is hosting COMSATS’ Secretariat in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan is the current chairperson of the Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology is it’s focal point in Pakistan.
