PM Gilani to lead Pakistan’s delegation to 17th SAARC Summit
ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will visit Maldives to lead Pakistan’s delegation to 17th SAARC Summit being held there on November 10-11.Foreign Office Spokesperson Ms. Tehmina Janjua giving details of the SAARC Summit said, “Pakistan’s commitment to regional engagement is further reflected in the Prime Minister’s participation in the 17th SAARC Summit being held at the Maldives.”She said the theme of the summit is “Building Bridges” - an enhanced focus on increasing transportation and communication links, promoting regional trade and investment; and freer movement of people to facilitate cultural exchanges.“Pakistan believes that the SAARC has a crucial role to play in unleashing the region’s huge potential for economic prosperity and progress,” she added.
Replying to a question, the spokesperson said foreign office of Pakistan and India are in touch to find a possibility of meeting between the prime ministers of their countries on the sideline of 17th SAARC Summit.
