PM Gilani invited by Russian counterpart to attend SCO moot in St. Petersburg
ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP): Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has invited his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to participate in the session of the Council of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States, to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on November 7. The Russian Prime Minister in his letter also expressed his desire to meet Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on the occasion of the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting at Saint Petersburg, a press release issued by the PM House here on Monday said.
The SCO moot is expected to discuss the issues of coordination among the countries amid acute problems faced nowadays by the world economy, to determine further steps aimed at developing trade, economic and humanitarian ties between the SCO Member States, Observers and other regional partners.
The Russian Prime Minister said that he was confident that the forthcoming session will promote the intensification of cooperation between the SCO Member States and Pakistan.
