Some quarters undermining demand of province in Southern Punjab: PM
LAHORE, Nov 5 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that some quarters were engaged in undermining the demand of people of Southern Punjab by demanding creation of more provinces or raising issues of naming of the province.Replying to a question of journalists after inaugurating the Paksat-1R Communication Control Facility at Kala Shah Kaku here, the Prime Minister said that the sense of deprivation was widespread throughout the Southern Punjab which needed to be addressed at the earliest.The overwhelming majority of the people of Southern Punjab firmly believed that a separate province would definitely eliminate such feelings to a great deal as it would empower them politically, economically and culturally, he added.
 The Prime Minister said, “The province can be called Bahawalpur province.”
