PM’s participation in SCO summit to open news vistas for Pakistan’s progress: Firdous
ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Aashiq Awan on Sunday said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani’s participation in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit would open new avenues for the welfare of people and prosperity of the country.Dr Firdous said in a statement, that the participation in the summit would enhance cordial relations among Pakistan and SCO member countries. Pakistani leadership, she said, would have interaction with prominent leaders participating in the SCO summit, which would be an opportunity for exchanging ideas on matters of mutual interest and regional and international issues.“Pakistan’s participation in SCO meeting is evident of how much importance the country gives to the SCO forum”, she observed.Through this forum, Pakistan aspires to promote cooperation with participating countries for enhancing opportunities in terms of peace, stability, trade, economic prospects and other fields with mutual activities and cooperation, she added.
She said the present democratic government was pursuing the policy of promoting relations through dialogue at international level, joint forums and different groups to promote trade and economic activities inspire of depending on aid.
She hoped that the participation of Pakistan in this forum would have long-term benefits for the prosperity of country.
