Govt doesn’t need to show power through rallies: PM Gilani
LAHORE, Nov. 12 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that the Federal Government need not show muscles to prove its strength.Responding to a question by a press reporter about Pakistan Peoples Party contemplation of holding a public meeting like the Pakistan Muslim League-N or Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI), the Prime Minister said,”Since, we are in the government, and the government doesn’t need to show power or muscles to prove its strength.”To another question, the Prime Minister said it was PTI’s first public meeting and as you know “there’s many a slip between the cup and the lip”.
Talking to newsmen after addressing the 125th Year Celebrations of Aitchison College, he rejected the allegations of PML-N and others and made it clear that the agencies were not involved in supporting the PTI to hold public meeting in Lahore. “Agencies are under the government and there is no truth in the allegations,” the Prime Minister said.
He said that most of the political parties were coalition partners in the Federal Government, therefore, the parties or the public were not wary of democratic set-up.
