PM's Karwan-e-Tameer journey to usher in new era of progress: Parliamentarians ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): Parliamentarians on Friday said the 'Karwan-e-Tameer' journey of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to inaugurate major development projects, completed in three years, would usher in new era of progress. Senator Salahuddin Dogar, Farzana Raja, Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Sardar Bahadur Ahmad Khan Sehar, Minister of State for Defence Production and MNAs Sahibzada Mohiyuddin, Shaheen Ashfaq and Sajjad-Ul-Hassan called on Prime Minister Gilani at his Parliament House Chamber here. Zamurrad Khan, Chairman Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal was also present. The parliamentarians said they looked forward to welcome the Prime Minister`s visit with regard to Karwan-e-Tameer in their respective constituencies. They said that record development schemes had been completed in this tenure which resulted in improvement of quality of life of the people at grassroots level. Senator Salahuddin Dogar thanked the Prime Minister for approving upgradation of International Football Stadium in Multan and also provision of funds for street lights in the city. Sahibzada Mohiyuddin expressed his gratitude on behalf of the people of the area for the resumption of work on Lawari Tunnel. During meeting with Sardar Bahadur Sehar, the Prime Minister said he would visit his constituency as a part of Karwan-e-Tameer to inaugurate the completed people-friendly development schemes. Shaheen Ashfaq appreciated Prime Minister for giving funds and respect for the elected representatives across the political divide. She complimented the Prime Minister for his decent conduct with the Opposition members regardless of the political affiliations. The Prime Minister approved funds for old age home in Gujranwala as proposed by the MNA. During the meeting with Farzana Raja, Chairperson BISP the Prime Minister said promotion of education for the needy, listed under BISP will be included in the agenda of forthcoming CCI meeting to decide the matter in presence of representatives of the provincial governments. Zamurrad Khan briefed the Prime Minister about 700 children of "Sweet Homes" adopted by various families. He said 40,000 wheel chairs worth Rs. 250 million gifted by Government of China will be distributed throughout the country.
