PM asks MNAs to monitor reconstruction in flood-hit areas
ISLAMABAD, Dec 24 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Friday stressed the members of National Assembly from the flood affected areas to closely monitor the reconstruction process in their respective constituencies and ensure their input in this regard. The Prime Minister said in view of the importance of close contact of the MNAs with the people of their respective areas, the government had decided that all reconstruction and rehabilitation activities would be carried out with their consultation.The Prime Minister was talking to a group of MNAs belonging to the flood affected areas of Southern Punjab who called on him here at the PM House.
He listened to the observations of the MNAs on the reconstruction process in the flood affected areas of the Southern Punjab.
The MNAs apprised the Prime Minister of various proposals for improving the quality of work and for expediting the process.
The Prime Minister said all the concerned government agencies have been directed to expedite the reconstruction work.
The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities for timely release of the requested funds. He also issued directive that the concerned MNAs must be kept onboard about the reconstruction work.
He also directed that correct data should be obtained by involving national institutions having repute for the accurate estimates of the reconstruction of infrastructure in the flood affected areas.
The Prime Minister asked the MNAs to contact the flood affected people and hold meetings with them, so that they should have first hand knowledge of their requirements.
He added that the concerned government organizations should be immediately informed about the requirements.
The MNAs included Mir Dost Mohammad Mazari, Jamshed Khan Dusti, Abdul Qayyum Khan Jatoi and Muhammad Muazzam Ali Khan
