PM for enhancing cooperation between Pakistan, Ukraine in various fields
ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Friday directed Pakistan Ambassador to Ukraine, Maj Gen. (Retd) Ahmed Nawaz Salim Mela to focus on enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Ukraine in the fields of defense, trade, economics, science & Technology and education.He asked him to vigorously pursue the finalization of Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of Joint Economic Commission between the two sides, which is presently under consideration of the relevant authorities.The Prime Minister was talking to Maj Gen (Retd) Ahmed Nawaz Salim Mela, Pakistan Ambassador to Ukraine who called on him at PM’s Secretariat.
The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of regular high level contacts from both the sides in order to promote existing relations and shared objectives of both the countries.
He hoped that the fourth round of bilateral political consultation would be scheduled at the earliest. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Chambers of Commerce of both the countries would be encouraged for fostering meaningful collaboration between the business community and enterprises as well as for undertaking the joint ventures in the areas of industrial engineering, metrology, agriculture, livestock industry and diary products in Pakistan.
The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for his guidance and assured of utilization of all his energies to come up to the expectation of the government in further promoting the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Ukraine.
