1,700 MW electricity will be added to national grid by year end: PM
KARACHI, Oct 26 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Tuesday that by the end of this year some 1,700 mega watts electricity would be added to the national grid through rental power plants.He was talking to mediamen during his visit to the shrine of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Clifton here on Tuesday. The Prime Minister said that so far 1,704 mega watts electricity had been added to the national grid.He also said that the present democratic government was pursuing the policy of reconciliation. “Under this policy, we will take all the political parties along,” he added.
When a reporter referred to a meeting of Federal Minister Dr Babar Awan with PML (Q) leader Chaudhry Pervez Illahi, the Prime Minister said that when he was elected as Prime Minister there was a total unanimity in the House and he had also voted for him.
He said that the present government was pursuing the politics of reconciliation.
The Prime Minister condemned the incidents of terrorism and said that only a handful of elements were behind such acts, who were out to mar peace and destabilize the country and were working on their own agenda.
Replying to a question, he said that the law and order was a provincial subject and that the provincial leadership was chalking out a line of action to deal with the situation. The Federal Government would also extend assistance in this respect if need be.
To another question, the Prime Minister said that the judiciary was playing its role. “We respect all the institutions”, he added.
