PM stresses upon improving socio-economic development in FATA       
ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday asked the public representatives of FATA to reach out to the people of the tribal areas for restoration of peace and security to accelerate development activities. He further said the government is making concerted efforts for the socio-economic development of the tribal areas to improve the living conditions and defeat terrorism.The Prime Minister observed this while talking to Senator Abbas Khan Afridi and Senator M. Idrees Khan Safi who called on him at his chamber in the Parliament House. 
He stated that extremism and terrorism are the root causes of poverty and backwardness, therefore, need to be addressed on war footing.
He appreciated the sacrifices and contributions of the people of FATA for the future of the country.
Both the Senators assured the government of their full cooperation.Proposals for supply of electricity, gas and drinking water to the people of FATA were also discussed in the meeting.
