Political synergy needed to confront challenges:PM
KARACHI, Jan 28 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the challenges being confronted by the country demand political synergy and collective vision to cope with the challenges effectively.He was talking to Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan, who called on him at the Governor House here.Prime Minister said that it is time that all political stakeholders rise above their leanings and work together for larger national interest.He stated that difference of opinion is a reflection of democratic spirit and helps reach the right decision.Similarly, different approaches to resolve an issue, he added, help to adopt an appropriate and economical course while taking a decision.
The objective, however, should be, he said, that matters do not get stuck up because of political differences and people should not suffer.
The Prime Minister lauded the political maturity gained by all political parties in an environment which requires collective efforts to resolve national issues.
Despite the facts that no single party has majority in the parliament yet landmark constitutional amendments were made which reflect commitment of political leadership for democracy.
He expressed confidence that the process of dialogue should continue.
The Sindh Governor apprised the Prime Minister about the current law and situation in the province, especially in Karachi and efforts to bring about a long lasting understanding between political stakeholders.
He also briefed about development projects in flood affected areas and other projects which are near completion.
Earlier, the Prime Minister visited Kingri House and held meeting with Pir Pagaro.
Talking to media person he emphasised on political reconciliation to move forward for the development of the country.
