Creation of economic opportunities tops govt agenda: PM
MULTAN, Jan 29 (APP) Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Saturday that the government development agenda envisaged creation of economic opportunities for the common man, particularly youths. Talking to public representatives from Multan Division and surrounding areas here at local Circuit House, Gilani said that vocational training and skill development programmes had been initiated.”Technically equipped and trained individuals can prove to be more useful and easily adjustable when opportunities arise,” he added.The Prime Minister said that beside creating economic opportunities in and around urban areas, the government was also focusing on the development of the agriculture sector.
A number of incentives have been offered to farmers and more facilities are being provided to improve standard of living of people of rural areas, he added.
The representatives apprised Gilani of the problems of their respective areas, including unemployment.
They said that reconstruction in flood-hit areas was satisfactorily and farmers were pleased to receive seeds and fertilizers for wheat.
They also requested him that form-to-market roads particularly in flood hit areas should to be repaired at the earliest.
