High level visits to expand ties with Brunei: Gilani
ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani expressed confidence that the visit of Major General Haji Aminuddin Ihsan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces to Pakistan will serve to further enhance the existing cooperation in the defence sector between Pakistan and Brunei.  The Armed Forces Institute of Training, he added, can further increase facilities for more number of officers from Brunei for training at various levels.
Major General Aminuddin Ihsan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces who called on the Prime Minister said that his current visit to Pakistan has been very successful and he was deeply impressed to see the products of the defence industry of Pakistan.
He invited Pakistan to participate in the Defence Exhibition being held in Brunei from 6th to 9th of July, 2011 and display its products.
The Prime Minister assured that Pakistan would participate in the Defence Exhibition being organized by Brunei in July this year and display products which can attract buyers from all parts of the world including Brunei Darussalam.
The Prime Minister further said that the existing close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Brunei demand for more close and expanded economic and trade relations. 
He mentioned that he would send the Chairman of Trade Development Authority to Brunei in the near future to explore possibilities of expanding trade relations.
The Prime Minister said that high level visits are always beneficial in promoting bilateral relations and was pleased to learn that the visit of Major General Aminuddin Ihsan has been useful for both countries.
The Prime Minister further asked him to convey the good wishes to Sultan and apprised him that Pakistani Government and people are looking forward to his visit to Pakistan. 
He also thanked for assistance from Brunei to the flood affected population of Pakistan.
The Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces assured to convey the feelings of the leadership and people of Pakistan to the Sultan and people of Brunei. 
He also assured to convey Pakistan’s interest in expanding trade relations.
Minister for Defence Ch Ahmad Mukhtar, Secretaries Defence, Foreign Affairs and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
