China’s rise testimony of its leaders’ wisdom: Gilani
ISLAMABAD,Feb 2 (APP):Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said Chinese phenomenal ascent over the last six decades bears testimony to the wisdom of its leaders and genius of its people.In a message of felicitation to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, the Prime Minister said, “On the advent of Chinese Lunar Year and Spring Festival, I have great pleasure in extending, on my behalf and on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, our cordial greetings and sincere felicitations to Your Excellency, the government and the people of China.”
“For us in Pakistan, we believe that China is a factor of stability and of hope for the people of the world,” he said adding this belief is reinforced by the fact that China’s growth has, in its wake, brought peace, prosperity and harmony in its immediate neighbourhood and beyond.
“As a close friend and good neighbour of China, Pakistan deeply appreciates China’s initiatives for building mutually beneficial economic complementarities for progress and social harmony in Asia and beyond,” the Prime Minister remarked.
“For us in Pakistan, our special friend and a time-tested partner, is a source of pride, inspiration and admiration. Our close and friendly relations with China have been and will remain the cornerstone of our foreign policy,” the Prime Minister added.
He said the recent visit of Chinese Premier was testimony of unique relationship of the two countries.
Gilani said Pakistan and China have declared 2011 as Year of Friendship, which also coincides with the 60th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“Our two countries have already agreed on a comprehensive action plan to celebrate the Friendship Year,” he added.
He conveyed best wishes for the Chinese Premier’s good health and happiness and continued progress and prosperity for the friendly people of China.
