Govt consistently working to empower masses: PM
ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Friday said the government has been consistently working to empower the people, and Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan, the NFC Award and Gilgit-Baltistan package were manifestation of the government’s resolve.The government has used all the resources to provide basic amenities to common man and to bring less developed areas at par with developed cities, he said.The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Senator Nelofar Bakhtiar, Minister for Railways, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo and MNAs Ms. Saima Akhtar Bharwana, Syed Alauddin, Mian Abdul Sattar and Khurram Wattoo, who called on him here at his Parliament House Chamber on Friday.
Reiterating the policy of reconciliation, the Prime Minister said that this policy has introduced a new political culture of tolerance and cooperation in democratic system.
“We will continue this policy of taking all the political forces on board on national issues including the economic challenges”, he added.
The Prime Minister urged the ministers to take steps to improve the governance in their respective ministries, adding, good governance will accelerate the solution of problems being faced by the common man.
He urged them to work for the strengthening of democratic culture as it will ensure the progress of the country.
The Parliamentarians thanked the Prime Minister for his untiring efforts to empower the people of less-privileged areas.  They also apprised him of various development schemes of their relevant constituencies.
