Development of Kashmir priority of govt: Gilani
ISLAMABAD, Mar 4 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Friday that development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is priority of his government and funds for projects will be provided to the AJK government.  He said this during a meeting with President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Zulqarnain Khan at the Prime Minister House Friday afternoon.
He assured that the funds of reconstruction and rehabilitation projects for the flood-ravaged areas especially in health and education sectors, will soon be released.
Both the leaders expressed their deep grief over the tragic demise of late Shahbaz Bhatti, the Minister for Minorities Affairs.
The Prime Minister reiterated the resolve of the government to fight menace of extremism and terrorism with iron hand.
The Prime Minister said that he would be visiting AJK in the near future to lay foundation stones of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College and Mirpur University campus.  
He said his government was making all out efforts for higher education in the country.
He asked the AJK President to promote public private partnership in the education sector.
Globalization and information revolution, he added, has posed serious challenges for the developing nations like Pakistan.
Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stand on the Kashmir issue, the Prime Minister said the resolution of dispute in accordance with the UN Resolution and the wishes of the Kashmiri people could help efforts for peace and economic prosperity of the South Asian region.
AJK President appreciated Pakistan’s support for the rights of the people of Kashmir.
He thanked the Prime Minister for supporting the Kashmir cause and highlighting the issue of human rights abuses and atrocities in the Indian occupied Kashmir.
The President AJK also briefed the Prime Minister about the progress of the ongoing developmental projects and discussed budget related matters in the meeting.
They discussed reconstruction and rehabilitation projects for the flood affected areas of the AJK.
Raja Zulqarnain asked the Prime Minister to advise Ministry of Finance to release funds for the compensation of affectees of Mangla Dam raising project.
