Govt taking all measures to mitigate sufferings of poor: Gilani
ISLAMABAD, Mar 8 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said that his government is taking all measures to mitigate sufferings of the poor.He further said that the government is focused on pro-poor policies despite financial constraints.The Prime Minister expressed these views while presenting cheques of Rs 200,000 each to M Tariq from Haripur and Khalifa M Irshad Baig, a poor artisan of Saidpur Village at Prime Minister House.Taking notice of the report aired on a TV Channel regarding plight of a poor family of Hazara, the Prime Minister directed to contact the head of the family.
M Tariq is a resident of Hazara and has four children. His two children are disabled by birth. One son is eight years old while the other one is 7 years old.
The Prime Minister asked him to have good medical treatment of his children, so that both could lead a normal healthy life.
Khalifa M Irshad Baig, a poor artisan, inhabitant of Saidpur Village approached the Prime Minister’s Secretariat for financial assistance for his daughter’s marriage.
The Prime Minister gave him cheque amounting to Rs. 200,000 to help him meet the expenses of marriage of his daughter.
