Govt promoting media for highlighting masses’ issues: PM
ISLAMABAD, Mar 11 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Friday said the government is paying special attention to promote media in view of its role of highlighting the issues of masses in a better way.The Prime Minister expressed these views while giving a cheque of Rs 1.1 million to Hussain Ahmad, President Photo Journalists Association, from Rahim Yar Khan who called on him at the PM House.The Prime Minister underlining the importance of media as fourth pillar of the state said the government expect that media while exercising freedom will highlight public issues. 
The government, he added, will provide all possible assistance to enhance the professional capability of the journalists.
Hussain thanked the Prime Minister for provision of 10 professional digital cameras for the photographers of Rahim Yar Khan as per their demand.
