Dmocracy’s success depends on public representatives’ performance: PM
ISLAMABAD, March 14 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Monday that the success of democracy mainly depends on the collective performance of public representatives and the democratic institutions. He stressed upon the need to respect the mandate of all the political parties to create a conducive working environment so that the public representatives could focus their attention on mitigating the sufferings of common man. The Prime Minister was talking to Maulana Attaur Rehman, former Federal Minister, Laiq Muhammad Khan, MNA and Lutfur Rehman, who called on him here at the PM Secretariat.
The members of National assembly (MNAs) appreciated the Prime Minister’s democratic and reconciliatory approach to develop the culture of tolerance which would strengthen the institutions.
They discussed with the Prime Minister the progress of work on the rehabilitation of flood victims. They apprised him of the progress on various development schemes, including Chashma Right Bank Canal and the protection of Levies in Tank areas.
