PM appreciates UAF efforts for agri-education,research
FAISALABAD,March 16 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has lauded the role of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) in the field of agricultural education and research.In a message which was read out during a programme held in connection with golden jubilee celebrations UAF,on Wednesday,Prime Minister has appreciated that this university has initiated many educational schemes and short courses for farmers,women and communities.
Premier,in his message, has appreciated that University has done remarkable work in collaboration with NAVTEC for the livestock and services sector. He has congratulated Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Vice Chancellor UAF for his contribution to set the systems in place.
UAF has remained at forefront in the entire process due to its national programs for optimizing the irrigation systems, wheat production, five-year plans, determination of corps rates or enhanced productivity in agriculture and livestock sectors,stated the message.
“A variety of horticulture, grains, vegetables and fruit crops are products of our land while optimally utilizing the nature resources, our agriculture scientists have increased the productivity and quality of products, especially wheat, rice, cotton, mango and citrus fruits, making Pakistan one of the highest producers”.
In recent years, farmer community has greatly appreciated the bed-planting technologies devised by the university as it is proven to be effective in increasing crop production and effective water management”,stated the message.
