Gilani, Shavkat hold informal exchange of views
TASHKENT, (Uzbekistan) March 24 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday apart from their formal one-on-one and delegation level talks also discussed a range of issues in a series of informal exchanges. On the conclusion of the talks at the International Business Centre the two leaders strolled to the hotel, where Prime Minister Gilani is staying. With a visibly thin security cover, they walked through the lush green lawns and continued their tete-a-tete at the hotel lobby, amidst the regular guests.
Gilani who earlier met his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the 8th summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in October 2009 seemed relaxed and had a frank exchange of views on ways to strengthen bilateral ties and the situation in the region.
The Uzbek Prime Minister was also keen to note that the visit coincided with completion of his three years as the Prime Minister.
Gilani later in an informal chat with reporters introduced the Pakistani media team to the Uzbek Prime Minister and told him that he too had done Masters in Journalism and has a good rapport with them.
