Development of Balochistan govt’s top priority: PM
ISLAMABAD, April 2 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Saturday that the development of Balochistan was on top of the priorities of the government.Talking to Minister for Science and Technology Changez Jamali, who called on him at PM’s House, the Prime Minister said that the introduction of Aghaz-e-Haqooe-e-Balochistan was a manifestation of the stern resolve of the government. He said that the representation of Balochistan in the Federal Cabinet showed that the government was paying full attention to the progress of Balochistan.The Prime Minister observed that the government was keen to develop the damaged irrigation infrastructure of the flood ravaged areas of Balochistan.
The requisite funds in this regard, would be released without any delay, he said.He assured the Minister that the water share of Balochistan for the Kharif season would be ensured according to the Water Apportionment Accord.
Emphasizing the importance of education for the development of Balochistan, the Prime Minister observed that the government was stressing on opening schools and technical institutes in all the districts of Balochistan.
He maintained that the government was planning to give 150 scholarships to brilliant Baloch students to enable them to study at the best educational institutions of the country.
Jamali thanked the Prime Minister for his personal interest for the development of Balochistan.
He apprised the Prime Minister of various projects taken up by his ministry.
