PM donates free bus for Muzaffargarh’s labourers, students
ISLAMABAD, Apr 14 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday provided a bus for the deserving people of Muzaffargarh to be run on free of cost basis.The Prime Minister handed over the keys of the bus to parliamentarian Jamshed Dasti for the Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Welfare Organization in a ceremony held at the PM House.Dasti will supervise the running of bus for the labourers, students and patients in his constituency NA-178.Prime Minister Gilani said the provision of bus was the reflection of Pakistan Peoples Party’s labourer and poor-friendly policies.
He appreciated the public welfare steps taken by Dasti, who is already running another free bus in the same city.
Dasti thanked Prime Minister Gilani for providing the bus. He later told media that the 56-seater bus will daily ply intra-city at about 70-80 kilometres from 6 a.m to 10 p.m.
He said the free transport service would take several rounds to schools, hospitals and workplaces to facilitate the needy people.
He said the cost of fuel and drivers’ salaries would be managed by a 12-member committee comprising philanthropists and industry owners.
Prime Minister Gilani during his visit to Muzaffargarh had announced provision of free bus for the people of the area.
