Gilani condemns drone strikes, terms counter-productive
ISLAMABAD, Apr 14 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, strongly condemning the drone attacks on Thursday termed them violation of the sovereignty of Pakistan territory and said those were counter-productive in the law enforcement operations against terrorists, miscreants and militants. Talking to Haji Muneer Ahmad Orakzai, MNA from FATA here at the PM House, the Prime Minister said that the issue was being raised at all forums and the NATO forces to convey them the concerns of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that the government was taking concrete measures for the development of Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) by addressing the sense of deprivation of the people and to bring them into mainstream politics.
Gilani said that the government was according priority to provision of education and health facilities in all agencies. He asked the tribal elders and local administration from FATA to be taken onboard to implement these policies.
Haji Muneer thanked the Prime Minister for his personal interest for the development of FATA. He apprised him of the progress on various gas supply schemes initiated by the Federal Government in all the agencies.
