Govt making all out efforts to accelerate economic development: PM
ISLAMABAD, Apr 18 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said the government is making consistent efforts to accelerate economic development in the country. He observed that the hard work of our farmers, good weather and judicious economic incentives of the government’s agricultural policy would enable the country to reap bumper crop alleviating poverty. The Prime Minister was talking to Parliamentarians who called on him here at the Parliament House on Monday evening.
The Prime Minister said that the economic policies being pursued by the government were showing signs of improvement in the overall economic structure of the country and soon its fruits will reaching to the common people.
He added that the continuity of these policies is very essential to realize long term benefits.
Appreciating the support extended by the Members of Parliament irrespective of their party affiliation to the Government, the Prime Minister reiterated the nation’s expectations will be fulfilled.
He said that democratic culture is taking roots and a culture of tolerance and respect of the public mandate has been introduced in the country’s politics.
The Prime Minister observed that earlier things were settled in the streets while this time Parliament has been the centre of all activity debating national issues in a mature fashion.
The parliamentarians informed the Prime Minister about various issues specific to their respective constituencies. They also briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the ongoing development projects in their areas.
The Parliamentarians included MNAs Nadeem Afzal Chan, Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bokhari, Muhammad Tariq Tarar, Usman Khan Tarakai, Dewan Ashiq Hussain Bokhari, Ijaz Ahmed Virk and MPA Javed Tarakai.
