Pakistan has rich cultural history, dominant imprints of Islam: PM
ISLAMABAD, Apr 21 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Thursday that Pakistan has a rich cultural history with dominant imprints of Islam and Islamic teachings.“It is our national obligation to preserve and protect our heritage and highlight the teachings of those who have contributed towards the reformation of our socio-cultural life”, he added.The Prime Minister expressed these views in a meeting with Dr Zafarullah, Vice Chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, who called on him to present a final draft of the book under publication about the life and teachings of Hazrat Musapak Shaheed of Multan, here at the PM House.
It may be recalled that the Prime Minister during his visit to Bahauddin Zakariya University last year had established a Chair in the University in the name of Hazrat Musapak Shaheed.
The scholars associated with the Chair after detailed research on the life of the Saint have been able to collect all the relevant details and have prepared a draft of the first authentic book on the subject.
The Vice Chancellor apprised the Prime Minister about the details of research work done and efforts made in collecting the facts during last one year which resulted in preparing this draft book.
The book, he mentioned, would be published in the near future by the Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.
