President, PM condole death of legendary artiste Moin Akhtar
ISLAMABAD, April 22 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister  Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani have expressed their deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of legendary television artiste and a showbiz icon, Moin Akhtar, who died in Karachi on Friday.The President and Prime Minister in their separate messages, conveyed heart-felt condolences and sincere sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.They prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His blessings upon the departed soul and grant strength to his family and millions of his admirers at home and abroad to bear this immense loss with equanimity.
The President and Prime Minister lauded the services of Moin Akhtar as a versatile artiste and comedian and said with his death, the country had lost a legendary artiste.
They said that Moin Akhtar, who was the recipient of the President’s Pride of Performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Awards, promoted the importance of patriotism throughout his career.
The President said Moin’s invaluable services in the field of performing art would always be remembered.
The Prime Minister said that with Moin’s death, the country had lost an artiste of high calibre and it would take a long to fill his vacuum. His invaluable services to the nation and country would always be remembered, he added.
