Govt taking steps to provide basic amenities to people: Gilani

       
ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP)- Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said the government is taking all possible steps to provide basic amenities of life to the common people.  The democratic process, he added, has been put on track and now it is duty of political parties to respect each others’ mandate. The policy of reconciliation of the government helped in building consensus for the unanimous adoption of 18th Constitutional Amendment. This spirit, he added, could further help to provide relief to the people.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali, Federal Minister for Education, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, Minister of State for Communication who called on him separately at Prime Minister House here Wednesday.
The Prime Minister stressed upon the need for improvement of educational institutions and road infrastructure in the country especially in the flood ravaged areas.
He instructed the Minister for Education to take steps for the improvement of state of education in the institutions of ICT and make these a model for other institutions.
He highlighted the need for teachers’ training to equip them with modern teaching skills.
The Prime Minister asked Minister of State for Communication for early restoration of the damaged road infrastructure in flood-hit areas to supplement the upcoming phase of reconstruction and rehabilitation.
The Ministers discussed political situation with the Prime Minister and lauded his political sagacity in taking all allied partners on board on all the issues.
They also apprised him of various development projects in their respective constituencies including the flood affected areas.
