China reminds international community to help, accept Pakistan’s sacrifices in counter terrorism
BEIJING, May 17 (APP): China Tuesday on the eve of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani 4-day visit reminded the international community to help and recognize the sacrifices Pakistan has rendered as front line state in counter terrorism.“Pakistan has made very important contribution in the international terrorism cooperation as well as great sacrifices”, said spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Jiang Yu while responding to questions at the regular press briefing here.China. it may be noted has been in the forefront of supporting Pakistan in the aftermath of May 2 Abbottabad episodes.
Jiang reiterated her government resolve by saying that “the Chinese government will unswervingly continue to support Pakistan’s effort to counter-terrorism.”.
She said Chinese government believes that fading off and combating the threat of terrorism is the common challenge facing the international community.
“Thus the international community should join hands together and jointly tackle this challenge”, she added.
Jiang expressed the hope that the relevant countries would continue to strengthen their cooperation with Pakistan in this regard and provide a further assistance.
Earlier, she said that Prime Minister Gilani will start his official visit to China from tomorrow and “we are looking forward of his visit as well as the positive results out of it.”
Premier Wen Jiabao will meet with him in the afternoon on May 18 and President Hu Jintao will also meet with him, she noted.
“China and Pakistan are strategic partners and trust each other” Jiang said adding that “the traditional friendship has taken roots to further consolidating and developing our friendship and cooperation”.
She said that the friendship between the two sides is the common aspiration of people of China and Pakistan.
China, she further said is willing to work together with Pakistani side to create a bright future for our bilateral relations.
