PM Gilani, Chairman CPPCC discuss bilateral ties
BEIJING, May 19 (APP) Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Jia Qinglin had a bilateral meeting here on Thursday and discussed bilateral relations as well as other matters of mutual interest.Prime Minister Gilani congratulated the Chairman CPPCC on the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties.Gilani thanked the people and government of China for their support to Pakistan in every difficult time and said China is the first country which raised its voice in support of Pakistan after the recent Abbottabad incident.
The Chairman CPPCC said Pakistan and China enjoy close and historic relations as well as a strategic partnership. The relations between the two countries have withstood the test of time and they will continue to work for further strengthening of their cooperation in diverse fields.
Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir and Pakistan’s Ambassador in China Masood Khan were also present at the meeting which was held here at the State Guest House before a special reception co-hosted by Chinese People’s Association with Foreign Countries (CPAFC) and Pakistan’s embassy to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties.
