China remains steadfast friend, reliable partner of Paksitan: Gilani
BEIJING, MAY 20 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that throughout 60 years, China has remained a steadfast friend, a reliable partner and a trustworthy neighbour of Pakistan. In his message to his Chinese counterpart Premier Wen Jiabao on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Prime Minister Gillani said, “Our relationship is based upon mutual trust and respect. Our cooperation is rooted in mutually beneficial projects and ventures. Despite the ups and downs of international politics and changes in regional situation, both our countries have steadfastly stood by each other.”
Following is the text of the message:
“Excellency, it is my pleasure and honour to extend you the deepest felicitation of the Government and people of Pakistan on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two friendly and brotherly countries.
“Throughout these 60 years, China has remained a steadfast friend, a reliable partner and a trustworthy neighbour of Pakistan. Our relationship is based upon mutual trust and respect. Our cooperation is rooted in mutually beneficial projects and ventures. Despite the ups and downs of international politics and changes in regional situation, both our countries have steadfastly stood by each other.
“Pakistan-China relationships are unique and unparalleled in today’s world. Deeply rooted in our rich shared history and cultural heritage and despite differences in our social, political, and economic systems, this all weather,profound and broad-based friendship has withstood the test of time and has passed on from generation to generation. This friendship has aged through changing times and situations but remains fresh and forward looking.
“As we celebrate 60 years of our diplomatic relations, it is time to cherish our accomplishments as friends and partners. This year is an occasion for us to look back as well as look forward. It is an occasion for celebration of the past as well as for planning for future strengthening of our cooperation.
“On the occasion of Pakistan-China friendship year, please accept my personal best wishes for Your Excellency’s health and happiness and the continued progress and prosperity of China.“Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration
