PM urges link between govt agencies, public representatives
ISLAMABAD, Jun 2 (APP) - Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said improvement in the living standard of people in underdeveloped areas linked with the effective engagement of government agencies and the public representatives. Talking to Senator Syeda Sughra Imam at PM House here, Prime Minister Gilani said as a result of 7th NFC Award and the 18th Amendment, the provincial governments had a major role in dealing with public affairs. He added that federal government would provide every possible assistance to the provincial governments in the completion of development agenda for the coming fiscal year.
Talking about the meeting of Council of Common Interest, the Prime Minister said the enhanced role of the forum as envisaged by the 18th Amendment would help the Federal and the Federating Units form consensus on various issues of national importance.
Syeda Sughra Imam apprised the Prime Minister about various ongoing development projects in her constituency.
