PM inaugurates new Multan City Railway Station
MULTAN, June 4 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said the government was committed to improve the communication facilities for the masses.The Prime Minister while inaugurating the newly constructed Multan City Railway Station here, said the new railway station was a step in the same direction.This station, he added, had been built on the long overdue demand of the people of Multan. The Prime Minister directed the Railways authorities to ensure satisfactory passenger and carriage services. Earlier, the General Manager Railways briefed the Prime Minister about the new Multan Railway Station constructed in a record period of one year at a cost of over Rs 45 million.
He mentioned that around five million passengers would benefit from this facility and each train would stop at this station for two minutes.
It is expected that the Railways will earn Rs 133 million annually on account of passengers and carriage services, he added.
