Provision of basic life amenities govt’s primary objective: PM
ISLAMABAD, June 28 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that the provision of basic amenities of life to all citizens of Pakistan is the primary objective of the government.In this regard various schemes have been introduced to directly provide relief to the downtrodden segments of the society, he said and mentioned that Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Prime Minister’s Housing scheme for the low income group clearly define the government’s agenda.The Prime Minister was talking to Minister for Housing and Works Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, who called on him here at the PM House on Tuesday afternoon.
Referring to the implementation on 18th Constitutional Amendment, the Prime Minister said that the original democratic spirit of the Constitution has been restored.
The future course of democratic dispensation in the country would largely focus upon the promotion of reconciliation policy and consensus building on The Prime Minister said that for the development and progress of the country at a sustainable rate all the democratic forces have to play their due role.
Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat informed the Prime Minister about the progress made on the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme for low income group. He also briefed the Prime Minister about various steps taken for ensuring proper management of public welfare projects.the issues of national significance, he added.
