PPP to pursue reconciliation policy in AJK: PM
ISLAMABAD, Jun 28 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said Pakistan Peoples Party despite its clear majority in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, would adhere to the policy of reconciliation with other political groups.Talking to PML (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and federal ministers at the PM Secretariat, the Prime Minister said PPP would take onboard all democratic forces on national issues.Gilani said the government’s consensus and reconciliation policy was leading country towards development and progress.He mentioned that such policy was envisioned by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed as future course of politics for Pakistan.
Regarding third and final phase of the devolution process, the Prime Minister lauded the role of the Implementation Commission especially Mian Raza Rabbani for his commitment and resolute endeavour beyond party affiliations.
About various development activities being undertaken by the federal government, the Prime Minister said these would be completed for overall welfare and wellbeing of countrymen.
He added that minorities would not be ignored and a consensus based solution would be worked out for resolution of their issues.
The federal ministers included Minister for Environment Samina Khalid Ghurki, Minister for Health Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Minister of State for Health Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf and Minister of State for Interfaith Harmony and Minorities Affairs Akram Masih Gill.
