Completion of devolution process reflects leadership’s sincerity: PM
ISLAMABAD, June 28 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said the completion of devolution process reflected sincerity of the political leadership for the future generations.The implementation of the 18th Amendment, he said, was a victory of the smaller provinces that would have long-term benefits for the people.The Prime Minister was talking to the Chairman and members of the Implementation Commission on 18th Amendment who made a courtesy call on him here at the Prime Minister House.The Prime Minister praised the leadership role of Senator Mian Raza Rabbani as well as the hard work put-in by all the members of Commission. Such multi-party forums like the Implementation Commission, he said, were example of unity through diversity. It was undoubtedly a joint effort in the larger national interest, the Prime Minister said.
The Chairman and members of the Implementation Commission on 18th Amendment thanked the Prime Minister for his personal interest and support in helping them complete the assignment.
They praised the reconciliation policy of government which helped develop understanding among political parties to work for a common cause.
They also mentioned that there would be some teething problems further down the line but these could be resolved through political maturity of the leadership of political parties.
Besides Mian Raza Rabbani, members of the commission including Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Senator Haji Rehmatullah Kakar, Syed Naveed Qamar,MNA, Dr. M. Farooq Sattar, MNA, Senator Dr. Abdul Malik, Khuda Bukhsh Rajar and Abdul Ghafoor Mirza, Justice ® Muhammad Raza Khan, expert, Ahmad Mahmood Zahid, expert, Secretary Cabinet, Secretary Establishment and Secretary Inter Provincial Coordination attended the meeting.
