PPP to be reorganized in next two years: Gilani
LAHORE, Jul 26 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said Pakistan People’s Party will be reorganized in the next two years as part of preparations for the next elections. Addressing Punjab PPP Parliamentary Party meeting here, he said President, Prime Minister and PPP are in the present position and running a stable government due to party workers.
“Whatever today we are, it is due to workers of Pakistan People’s Party,” he added.
A number of federal ministers attended the party meeting.
Prime Minister Gilani said leaders of PPP should become prepared to answer concerns of the people.
Decisions about Punjab were taken in the interest of People’s Party and Pakistan, he added.
Gilani said today PPP can feel proud of the performance of the its government.
Restoration of constitution, amendments in the constitution, NFC award and empowerment of women are some of the achievements of the PPP government, he added.
The Prime Minister said federal ministers will meet the provincial legislators so that they can get resolved problems of their constituencies.
The Prime Minister praised performance of Baitul Mal and asked the Finance Minister to increase its funds so that it can run its projects more efficiently.
Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will be expanded to benefit those are below the poverty line, he said adding poor people will be provided health and life insurance and relaxation in utility bills.
He said his dialogue with members of the civil society and interaction with media will help the government gauge public opinion and resolve problems of common man.
The Prime Minister assured that party workers will be given five percent of the development funds.
Multan Faisalabad motorway project will be started to facilitate people in travelling and commercial activities, he added.
