PM visits Hazrat Imam Raza’s shrine, offers prayers
MASHHAD (Iran), Sept 13 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday visited the shrine of Hazrat Imam Raza (AS) and offered prayers there.Gilani arrived in this second largest city of Iran, which is also one of the holiest cities in the Muslim world, on Tuesday evening. He expressed keen interest in the architectural features of the shrine.Mashhad is also known as the city of Ferdowsi, the poet of Shahnameh, considered to be the national epic of Iran.The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister for Textile Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Minister for Professional and Technical Training Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Senator Sughra Imam.
Earlier on arrival at Mashhad airport, the Prime Minister was warmly received by Governor General of Mashhad Dr Mahmoud Salehi and senior Iranian officials
