Gilani, Larijani agree on exchange of more delegations to foster ties
TEHRAN, Sept 12 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani on Monday agreed that Pakistan and Iran should exchange more delegations of people from various walks of life to bring the two countries closer. In a meeting at the Parliament House here, the two leaders said the people of both countries have warm sentiments for each other. Larijani said Pakistan stood with Iran in critical times and they were shoulder to shoulder with each other and this spirit of friendship would remain evident in their future ties.Iran takes pride in the friendship of Pakistan and its role can be critical to achieve sustainable development at the regional level, he added.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan regards Iran as a factor of stability in the region and both the countries should work together to the mutual benefit of their peoples.
He asked the Iranian Speaker to play his part in promoting bilateral relations so that the two countries can take advantage of the strengths of each other.
