PM asks Ministers, MPs from Sindh to personally monitor relief work in rain-hit areas
ISLAMABAD, Sep 11 (APP): Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Leader of the House in Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and MNAs Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani here at the Prime Minister House on Sunday.The Prime Minister discussed with the parliamentarians the flood situation in Sindh arising due to torrential rains. He asked the Cabinet Ministers and parliamentarians belonging to Sindh to visit their respective constituencies and personally monitor the relief work.
The Prime Minister told the parliamentarians about the steps taken by the Federal Government for the relief of people stranded in the rain hit areas.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has been advised to work in liaison with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and district administration to make relief work more effective, the Prime Minister added.
Syed Khursheed Shah apprised the Prime Minister about the relief activities in various parts of Sindh.
