Raja Perveez Ashraf, Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto,Khawaja Shafique and Fiaz Chaudhry Mohtarma Bhutto returns to Dubai Former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto has returned to Dubai after participating in the Socialist International’s conference in Rome. The former Prime Minister was invited to speak on Civil Society and Women’s Participation in the political process. During her two day stay in Rome the Palestinian Foreign Secretary also called on former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. During the meeting the Palestinian Foreign Secretary also placed a telephone call to Mr Yasser Arafat who spoke with Mohtarma Bhutto. The two leaders talked over the telephone about the Middle East crisis. Italian Prime Minister also hosted reception for Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and her delegates, which included Raja Pervez Ashraf Deputy Parliamentary leader of the Party in the National Assembly, Khawaja Shafique President PPP UK and Fiaz Chudhry of PPP France. Mohtarma Bhutto’s engagements in Rome also included addressing a press conference. The future of a democratic Iraq and peace in the Middle East has been the central concerns of Socialist International in recent times. Its Secretary General also visited Iraq. Pleading for freedom and democracy in Iraq Mohtarma Bhutto said it was also important as it would raise hopes for Pakistan, Burma, the Middle East and other countries of the world ‘where tyranny raises its ugly head’. 21-07-2003
