Pride of performance awards announced for commanders for foolproof security       
ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (APP): Interior Minister A. Rehman Malik Sunday announced pride of performance awards for commanders for ensuring foolproof security during Muharram processions and visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to Pakistan.Talking to media here at the Ministry of Interior he said there were threats of terrorism during the visit of Chinese premier to Islamabad and Muharram processions, however the law enforcement agencies foiled the nefarious designs of the terrorists.
He said the overall security plans designed for Muharram processions and Chinese Prime Minister were ideal and the same would be followed in future.
While complimenting the efforts of police, FC and Rangers, he said the law enforcement agencies ensured foolproof security during Muharram and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the country.
He especially appreciated the efforts of Islamabad Police and announced one month salary as bonus for the force.
Malik also lauded the efforts of Punjab and Sindh police and said that they deserve appreciation for providing security to the particpants of Muharram processions.
The minister said that MQM coordination committee also cooperated with provincial police for observing peace during Muharram processions
