Sindh Governor calls on Prime Minister Gilani
KARACHI, Jan 7 (APP): Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, has said that unity among the democratic forces can effectively check the extremists tendencies much needed to ensure socio-economic development in the country. He was talking to the Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, who called on him at the Governor House here on Friday.Regarding the government’s policy of reconciliation, the Prime Minister said that this was aimed at forging harmonious relations among all the political parties for developing consensus approach on national issues.
The emerging democratic culture is encouraging for strengthening the democratic institutions. Earlier, the Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan, apprised the Prime Minister of the prevailing law and order situation and socio-political environment in the province. He also briefed him on the progress of some of the federal government projects. The Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, was also present on the occasion.
