Malik chairs high-level meeting to improve Balochistan situation
ISLAMABAD, Mar 1 (APP) Federal Minster for Interior Rehman Malik on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting with aim to coordinate steps for improving law and order situation in Balochistan province in particular and to take stock of overall developments in the province in general.Addressing the meeting, he said that volatile law and order situation in the province of Balochistan require deliberations/response at both political and administrative level, said a press release issued here.
He also appreciated the close coordination and cooperation between federal and provincial agencies for arrest of criminals in an effective manner at the provincial level.
Secretary Interior, IG FC Balochistan, PPO Balochistan, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs, representatives of ISI and representatives from NCMC attended the meeting.
The participants shared their views and after thorough deliberation the following decisions were made, involvement of foreign elements for creating chaos in the province and to counter the nefarious designs, the political leadership at provincial level has to play its role affectively.
IG police and Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs have been asked to brief the Chief Minster in this regard.
The joint investigation team (JIT) headed by DIG rank officer having members from all other agencies like FIA, ISI etc will investigate the matter of abduction of two judges and three lawyers.
Progress achieved though Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package announced by Federal Government is required to be reviewed and its implementation to be highlighted both in print and electronic media.
Kidnapped layers in Kchhi District and Judges from Naseerabad district would be recovered by utilizing all available resources at the disposal of provincial government.
All important functionaries (officials) are required to take precautionary measures voluntarily with in and out side their District Jurisdiction.
The provincial government shall arrange a meeting with chamber of Commerce and notables of the province in the next week to be co-chaired by Chief Minister and Minister for Interior.
Security zones are required to be established as per the activities of miscreants and rate of crime so that appropriate actions are taken through corresponding deployment of LEAs in each security zones.
Peace Committees at the level of Police Station are required to be established with the members from notables of Civil society.
It is mandatory for local administration to conduct the postmortem of the unclaimed bullet ridden dead bodies found in any part of the Province.
Registration of the FIR should be made a permanent feature to re-address the grievances of the bereaved families.
It was also decided, in pursuance of the police 3Ds of Prime Minister,that the provincial Government should invite different segments of society who are against the provincial government and raising slogans for a separate identity.
Ministry of Interior to send a team of journalists and media men to record the confessional statements of miscreants apprehended/detained in different prisons of the province. The report should be highlighted in all leading news papers and electronic media.
License for 3X FM Radio Channels have been granted for projection of the Government’s response in the shape of positive activities in the province.
